Honorary Labor Medal

Awarded to workers for outstanding service, efficiency or innovations in industry.  Medal has two types.  First type uses the Uigurian alphabet on the obverse.  The second type uses the Cyrillic alphabet on the obverse.   Mongolia changed their official alphabet from Uirgurian to Latin and then to Cyrillic all in 1940.

 This was originally issued as a badge but received the status of a medal in the 1960's.  Awarded to both Mongolian and Soviet soldiers for participation in the conflict between Japan and Mongolia.  Notice the Latin "Avgust" on the  red banner.  These were issued during the six month period of time that Mongolia used a Latin alphabet in 1940.

Established to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Great Russian October Revolution.  Mongolians and foreigners were awarded the medal for strengthening friendship and cooperation between peoples.  Most awardees were Mongolian or Russian builders, cultural organizations, artists, and showman.
